Confetti~Happy Birthday & Moonstruck

CVS has some new goodies for us polish lovers.  I took a few days this weekend and took my mom and kids to the beach in Northern Califonia.  While I was there, I managed to sneak into a CVS and pick up a couple of bottles of Confetti Polish in Happy Birthday and Moonstruck.  They were only $1.99 each and I must say I was impressed with the colors.

Happy Birthday is a purple with purple micro glitter.

It really is purple, rather than this blueish purple color my camera picked up.

Moonstruck is a gorgeous mushroomy taupe creme.

Don't mind the dent in the ring finger.  Wow, it really showed up good!

I don't have any information on the company who makes Confetti polish.  I can't find any info anywhere.  But I am hoping to check out my CVS tonight and pick up a few more!

We went to Bodega Bay, CA and up the coast a bit.  We saw whales, yes whales, the kids built sandcastles and played in the ocean.  It was a great couple of days!  I grew up going to Bodega Bay in the summer.  This is one of my most favorite places I have been.  Thanks for letting me share :)

Happy Birthday Nail'd & Polish'd

Wow, I can't believe it's already been a year since I discovered nail polish blogs and started mine.  It all started because I was looking for a dark teal nail polish to wear to a wedding.  When I typed in "dark teal nail polish" in the search engine, I found a bunch of blogs with pictures.  Vampy Varnish was the first nail polish blog I ever looked at and thank you Kelly for inspiring me to start Nail'd & Polish'd.  This has been a huge learning experience and I learn somthing new about blogging nearly every day.  But I thank you, so much, for reading and commenting.  It really means a lot to me to have people actually want to hear what I have to say.  You guys are the best!

I love this product! The Makeover Ridge Filler by Dermelect is wonderful. I have been using this for about 3 weeks now and I have noticed significant growth and stength in my nails. I was having some issues with peeling and breakage over the last few months, and now I don't. I would like to introduce my new favorite nail polish, Across the Universe.  This is the most beautiful blue polish in my collection.  It is a sheer dark blue base with blue, green, and tourquoise glitter.  The blue and the green bounce off each other, taking this polish to another dimension.

This is 3 coats of Across the Universe.  You really do need 3 coats on this one, unless you layer it over a dark blue or black.

Deborah Lippmann~Bad Romance

Happy Monday!  What a weekend here in blogger land!  But the good and drama free news is that I have an unbelievably gorgeous nail polish to show you.  I am sure most of you have seen Bad Romance by Deborah Lippmann by now.  It is one of the hottest colors at the momement.  It is turning non-glitter gals into glitter lovers everywhere. 

Bad Romance is a sheer black base with a ton of fuchsia glitter.  It has small pieces and chunks of hexagon glittery goodness.

Lace Nails

Remember a couple of months ago when lace nails were all the rage?  Well, I got all of the stuff to do them and this is how they turned out!

I used black lace from the fabric store and China Glaze~Something Sweet.  I love the way the lace looks.  I think it is pretty and girly and naughty all at the same time.  I love pink and black together and I think this turned out really pretty.  However, as much as I love the way it looks, I probably will never do this again.  It took forever to cut out the lace so that it would fit each nail just so.  Plus, since I used gel as my top coat, I couldn't stand the way it made my nails feel.  It also made for some very thick nails.
Here is my step by step to lace nails:
1.  Cut lace to the shape of your nail.
2.  Paint nails and let them dry completely.
3.  Using a brush on glue, brush the glue on top of the painted nail.  I did one nail at a time.
4.  Place the lace over the nail.
5.  Brush one more coat of glue over the lace and press down where the lace may be lifting.  I usd an orangewood stick to press the lifting spots.  Be careful not glue the orangewood stick to your nail!
6.  One you have glued the lace down, seal it.  I used gel(2 coats) and a UV light.  I don't know how well it would turn out with just top coat.

Next time, I'll try my Konad plate M71, M39, or M70.
