Wet n' Wild~On The Prowl

Halloween is just around the corner and I am so excited!  I have 2 kids who know what they want to be and my little one can't decide.  So I am going to get busy coming up with a werewolf and a zombie bride(I can't wait to do her make-up) costumes and wait until my youngest makes up his mind.  I finally tracked down the Wet n' Wild~On the Prowl Halloween collection.  This collection took it's sweet time to show up in my neck of the woods.  When I did finally find it, I didn't find a full display.  But I did get 5 of the 8 and I am still searching for a couple more.  I found these polishes at CVS for $1.99 each.  You need these polishes, so find them, wear them, love them.  These are all 2 coats.

Correction Tape is a fun polish!  Its a clear base with gold, fuchsia, & bright blue, medium hex and square glitter and a smaller black hex.  This is a fun color that would also work for Mardi Gras too!

Tangled in my Web is a clear base with small black hex glitter.  All by it's self, I don't really like it, but layered over other colors, it's really cool.

Behind Closed Doors is a sheer black base with medium red hex and tiny red glitter.  I LOVE this one!  I even like how trippy it looks.  I tried to float the glitter on, but when I did that, it made the base look weird.  I like it though.

Jungle Fever is a dusty apple green shimmer.  Not sure if the name, Jungle Fever, is Halloween-ish, but the color sure is.  It was a little sheer, but 3 coats would take care of that.

Buy Me a Drink is a beautiful smokey berry shimmer.  It has a slight light from with in glow that we haven't seen in a while.  Such a gorgeous shade!

I am going to layer the glitters over different colors to show you the versatility of them.  This is a really great collection and if you can find it, get it!  I still need Cougar Attack & Ready to Pounce :)

China Glaze~Haunting Collection

Well, it's getting to be that time of year again-Halloween!  I have the first Halloween themed collection that I have been able to find.  For some reason all the stores around me are taking their time getting all the Halloween goodies out and on the shelves.  China Glaze never really fails in the Halloween collections.  Year after year they release great colors and this year is no different.  I have heard a few mixed reviews on the is collection, but I think it's beautiful and eerie, just how Halloween should be!  The Haunting Collection is 6 polishes, Ghoulish Glow & Black Mesh (Crackle) are re-promotes.

It's Alive is a dense dark lime green glitter.  This is 2 coats, but I really could have used just one.

Haunting is a black creme base with silver glitter.

Near Dark is a dark, almost black, murky moss green.  I really like this color.  I think it's just gorgeous.

Crimson is a beautiful vampy blackened berry creme.  You know I love this color!

China Glaze~Haunting Collection is in out.  I saw it yesterday at Sally's.  Grab it while you can!  Thanks for looking!

OPI~Katy Perry Collection

OPI and Katy Perry teamed up to create a really great collection of four polishes and a shatter finish.  The shatter or crackle effect is all the rage right now and OPI's is wonderful.  This collection has sparkle, shimmer, and duochrome!  You can find these at your favorite OPI retailer.

The One That Got Away is a beautiful magenta base with magenta sparkles.

The One That Got Away with Black Shatter

Teenage Dream is a sweet sheer pink base full of tiny pink glitter and larger iridescent glitter.

Teenage Dream with Black Shatter.

Last Friday Night is a bright sheer blue base with tiny blue glitter and larger iredescent glitter.

Last Friday Night with Black Shatter.

Not Like the Movies is a silver shimmer base with a light purple/green duochrome.  I was hoping this color would be a little darker.  It's actually pretty sheer.  But it is pretty.

Not Like the Movies with Black Shatter.

Tha Black Shatter takes a nail or two to figure out, but once you get the hang of it, it's really pretty easy to use.  I do recommend a top coat.  If you want the mate look, try a thin coat of a regular top coat and then ttry a matte top coat over it.  What do you think?

Glitter Gal

Hello nail polish lovers!  Have you recovered from Christmas?  I haven't!  My house is a wreck and the weather is awful.  But I had a wonderful Christmas and the kids are happy.  A little while back, I won a contest that the super sweet Kellie from Also Known As... had.  It was for 2 Glitter Gal 3-D Holographic polishes!  Glitter Gal is a brand that I have had on my 'Must Have' list for a while, so I was so excited when I found out I won!  I got to pick any 2 holographic polishes that I wanted and I chose Red & Black (big suprise, right?)  These polishes are stunning!  Click on the photos to see the holo in all it's awesomeness :)

Red is more of a bright red with a beautiful holo shimmer.

Black is amazing!  I really don't think it gets any better than this, black with holo shimmer.

Glitter Gal is an Austrailian company and you can find these and a bunch of other gorgeous polishes here.

Who's Ready for Halloween?

I am!  I love Halloween!  I have 2 Halloween collections to share with you and today I am showing my vote for best Halloween collection first.  OPI's 'Go Goth!' is a collection of 4 mini polishes and a black lace bracelet.

Unripened has a black base with teal glitter.

Nevermore has a purple base with purple and pink glitter.

Sanguine is a gorgeous blackened red shimmer that has that lit from with-in glow.  It is my favorite of the bunch.  It reminds me of Urban Decay's Gash.

Obscurity is a black matte.

Deborah Lippmann~Bad Romance

Happy Monday!  What a weekend here in blogger land!  But the good and drama free news is that I have an unbelievably gorgeous nail polish to show you.  I am sure most of you have seen Bad Romance by Deborah Lippmann by now.  It is one of the hottest colors at the momement.  It is turning non-glitter gals into glitter lovers everywhere.

Bad Romance is a sheer black base with a ton of fuchsia glitter.  It has small pieces and chunks of hexagon glittery goodness.

These pictures do not do this polish justice.  It is so much more electric and glowy in person.  Bad Romance can be purchased at http://www.deborahlippmann.com/, Nordstrom, Barneys New York, and Neiman Marcus.

Wet n' Wild~Blackmail

Several weeks ago I went on a couple of Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure hunts.  On all but one of those hunts, I didn't find Hidden Treasure, but I always managed to come home with a polish or two :)  Wet n' Wild~Blackmail is one of those finds.  I was really excited when I spotted this polish.  In the bottle, it's black with dark pink sparkles.  I have wanted a black/pink glitter combo for a while, so I was excited to try it.  Unfortunatley, on my nails, the pink glitter gets lost or over powered by the black.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I thought this was a festive combo, perfect for St. Patrick's Day.  I used American Apparel~Hassid which is a black creme, with Nfu-Oh #56 on top.  Nfu-Oh #56 is a sheer green base with gorgeous Kelly green flakies.

American Apparel~Mouse & Hassid

American Apparel recently launched their new Nail Lacquer line of 18 shades that retail for $6 a bottle.  I was sent 2 polishes from their line for review.  They sent me Mouse and Hassid.  I am so happy they sent me Mouse.  I have been on the hunt for that perfect gray for my skin tone and guess what-it's Mouse!  Mouse is a gray creme with a tiny hint of pink to it.

Both pics are 2 coats, no top coat, inside with a flash(still no sun in 'sunny' California)
American Apparel~Mouse

Hassid is a black creme.  This is 2 coats, no top coat.  I think 1 coat would have worked just fine.  **Bonus points-it works for Konad!!!  You'll have to take my work, I am out of acetone and did a quicky :)

American Apparel~Hassid

All in all, I am thoroughly impressed with American Apparel Nail Lacquer.  I can't wait to order some!  You can find them here.

**Disclaimer** The kind people at American Apparel sent me these sample nail lacquers for review.

Creme de la China Glaze

I have saved my favorite 2 China Glaze polishes for last, the creme de la creme of my CG stash, Ruby Pumps and Lubu Heels.

Ruby Pumps is a beautiful red full a glorious red glitter!

Lubu Heels is the color I have wished for for years-black with red glitter.  This is my favorite color of all the colors I own and have ever used.

What more can I say?  These 2 are the most beautiful China Glaze polishes and I know a lot of you guys agree.

Nfu-Oh

Oh how I love these polishes!  The polish, the packaging.  I only have 2 Nfu-Oh polishes and I have already posted this color once, but is definitely deserving of a second post.

Nfu-Oh 60 is a black jelly base with all sorts of different shaped orangey/coppery flakies.  In certain light, it has a green iridescence to it.  It's a great Halloween color.

A little bottle love

Eyeko

Happy Friday everyone!  What are you guys doing this weekend before Halloween?  I am finishing up costumes for the kids and going to 2 kids Halloween parties.  Well whatever you do, I hope it's great!

On to the polish...the other 3 Eyeko.  Each of these went on well.  The only problem I had was the awkwardness(had to look that word up wheew!) of the cap & brush mixed with the dark colors.  They were a little on the thin side, but dense enough with color that the second coat evened out any streaks.

Punk Polish is a bright hot pink creme

Saucy Red Polish is a fire engine red creme

Vamp Polish is as blue black as they come-great color!

I really like Eyeko polishes.  They are coming out with some new ones and they are on sale this weekend- check out their website, here, for all the info!

China Glaze~Fortune Teller

I wasn't going to get Fortune Teller, but once I saw it, I knew I had to have it!  There isn't much I can say about this polish that hasn't already been said, but I think this is the best Halloween/October polish I have!  What a stunner!

Orly~Matte

Just about the time you think the whole matte thing is over, out comes another collection.  This time Orly has come out with 3 matte polishes.  These 3 colors rock!  They aren't exactly matte, I would say they have more of a satin finish.  I got mine at Sallly's and they were $5.99 each.

Purple Velvet is a hard color to descibe.  It is more of a dark mauve on the purple side rather than purple as the name suggests.  It has a very slight pearl to it.  I really like this one!

Blue Suede is super cool.  I love this color.  It is a medium dusty blue.

Matte Vinyl is black and it is the most matte out of the 3.  It dries to more of a really dark gunmetal, but it still is really awesome!

These polishes took longer to dry and matte up than the other mattes I've tried.  I really like this collection, what do you guys think?

MAC Style Black Polish

I have one word-redemption.  The polish colors are fantastic and nothing less than what I would expect from MAC.  These colors are dark, really dark and very edgy.  I was not a fan at all of their fall polish colors, but these are awesome!  They have 3 polishes in this collection, Baby Goth Girl, Seriously Hip, and Nocturnelle.  I have Baby Goth Girl and Seriously Hip for you.  Nocturnelle is a black creme and I really wanted eyeshadow and lip gloss :)

Baby Goth Girl is a dark eggplant purple with glitter and small flakies, yes, flakies.  Not as noticable as Nfu Oh's flakies but they are there.

Seriously Hip is a black base with gold shimmer, glitter and flakies again.

I also got the Glimmerglass in Blackfire and the Mineralize Eye Shadow in Young Punk.  Yay MAC!

Nfu~Oh

I was lucky enough to go out to an awesome Chinese dinner with my husband Friday night, without kids, and I got the coolest fortune in my fortune cookie! It says, "Next week, your luck color will be green!"
So yesterday I was all set to choose a green and get going on my week of green and see if it brought me any 'luck' and then the mail came...

OMG! Nfu~Oh is the coolest polish out there. I ordered 2 bottles Thursday afternoon(it took me forever to decide on just 2 colors) and I received it Saturday! So I would love to say thank you to www.fabuloustreet.com for their fantastic customer service and lightning fast turn around from receiving my order to shipping it! They are located in California and are the only authorized seller for Nfu~Oh in the US. Check them out! Here are the 2 polishes I got: 60 from the Flakies Collection and GS14 for their glitter series.

#60 as a black jelly with coppery glitter flecks and a subtle rainbow sheen. I did 2coats, but I think next time I'll do 3.

Did I mention the packaging???

~front~

~back~

GS14 is a black base with a rainbow of glitter. It is awesome! Very glittery and I LOVE this color! I could stare at it for hours. The pictures didn't do it justice.
